Wealth (Lakshmi) is highly revered. Poverty is not glorified. However, wealth must be accompanied by Saraswati (wisdom/ethics). Wealth acquired without Dharma is considered ‘Alakshmi’ (inauspicious) and brings destruction to the owner.
